New Vetting and Barring Scheme - What does it mean?

From July 2010, people who apply to work with children or vulnerable adults will be able to start to apply for ISA registration (Independent Safeguard Authority) via the Criminal Record Bureau.
This will be a mandatory step from the 1st of November 2010 .

The registration will cost £64 but it is a one-off fee (the certificate will be valid if you change jobs).

According to the Government's website: "It’s the same process as the current system of getting a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check. You’ll be able to apply for an enhanced CRB check at the same time for no extra cost."

By July 2015, everyone who currently works with children or vulnerable adults will have to be registered under the new scheme.
